Events

April - Kick Butts Day
This is an annual nation-wide initiative that makes young people leaders in the effort to stop youth tobacco use. It is a celebration of youth advocacy, leadership, and activism. All across the country, youth organize events to raise awareness on tobacco issues.

The event is sponsored by the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. See kickbuttsday.org for more information.

May - World No Tobacco Day
This is the only global event established to call attention to the impact of tobacco use on public health and reduce individual tobacco dependence. A spirit of worldwide cooperation is the best chance for stamping out tobacco-related death and disease and working towards a tobacco free world.

See www.wntd.com for more information.

Partners for Tobacco Free Lake County celebrates this event every year with a World No Tobacco Day Walk at Independence Grove in Libertyville.  There is no charge to participate, and those who pre-register are entered in a raffle for prizes.  For more information about this year’s event, contact 847-377-8090, TFLC@lakecountyil.gov or visit www.lakecounytil.gov/health/tobaccofree.
