Partners for Tobacco Free Lake County is a coalition dedicated to the reduction of tobacco use within Lake County.
The mission is:
To improve the quality of Lake County residents and workers lives through awareness, advocacy, and prevention of tobacco related diseases.
The intention of Partners for Tobacco Free Lake County is to create
more community involvement in tobacco prevention, awareness, and
cessation activities in Lake County. The coalition meets every other
month to identify new ways to collaborate with each other and other community organizations in such a way as to create opportunities to help meet our goals. Partners for Tobacco Free Lake County consists of members from different sectors in the community, including hospitals, schools, health care providers, law enforcement, and other agencies, as well as interested Lake County residents.

The coalition was initiated in the fall of 2000 by the Tobacco Free Lake County program through Lake County Health Department/Community Health Center. The Tobacco Free Lake County program is supported with the monies from the tobacco settlement fund. Tobacco Free Lake County's mission is to educate and empower schools, health care professionals, communities and individuals in tobacco awareness, prevention and cessation.
